Mother Advisor here...

Alive and well - believe it or not.   Here is a note from Supreme Folks - I will email when I can.  Work email is off limits until I go back.  Use the other one I sent out before surgery.   Much love.

While in Maine's Grand Assembly, several girls from Maryland and other jurisdictions had questions about Supreme. This made me realize that we were taking a larger group of novices - both girls and adults. We all sat together and came up with the following letter. This letter plus the information sheet sent earlier should give you all you need to know for a wonderful time in Grand Rapids.

It will also be located in the file section of this group.

Thanks,
Mary Adeline

What do I need to take to Grand Rapids?
The majority of meals are on your own. We suggest you allow $40 per day for your meals. If you are riding the bus, you paid $50 which includes admission to Cedar Point and dinner in the park, as a group. You will most likely need money in the park for drinks, snacks, and/or souvenirs.

There are several vendors at Supreme Assembly. You'll have the opportunity to visit the vendors who have a variety of items for sale.

There is a $5 per day charge for using the swimming pool at the hotel. We are checking to see how the fee will be charged.

You'll need a photo ID, Dues Card, and Grand Cross Card.
Don't forget your Grand Officer Pin, Grand Cross Medallion, Maryland Lanyard, Maryland Flag
Swaps - Little trinkets that girls exchange with other girls from around the world. Include your name, Jurisdiction and any contact info you would like to include. Usually 100 swaps will get you through Supreme.

Check the packing list for clothing to bring.
What should I wear and when?
If you are traveling on the bus, you should wear our lime green "bus t-shirt" and slacks, shorts or capris. No short shorts!
When going for independent meals or touring you may wear khaki slacks, capris or bermuda shorts and any kind of "rainbow shirt". Remember you are representing Maryland Rainbow everywhere you go.
If you need to be in the arena for a rehearsal or to assist with anything you should be in your khaki skirt and yellow shirt.
Sunday morning, July 22nd starts with a Church Service. Dress for that morning is a nice "Church Dress" for Girls/Ladies and Suit for Men.
Sunday evening, July 22nd is the Supreme Banquet. The Maryland Delegation will be in red. Girls/Ladies are to wear red gowns and Men in Tux or Suit with red tie if available.
Monday is Ritual Competition. If you are competing you will be in your white skirt and top, white shoes, slip, and pantyhose.
Monday evening is the opening of Supreme Assembly. The Maryland Delegation will again be in red just as we were for Sunday evening.
Tuesday we will be wearing our yellow splash polo shirts and khaki skirts. The girls who competed in ritual competition should wear their yellow ritual shirt that night.
Wednesday morning is INSTALLATION! The Maryland Delegation will be dressed in yellow. Girls/ Ladies in yellow gowns and Men in Tux or Suits with yellow tie, if available.
Wednesday evening is our Maryland Dinner. The dinner is casual and you may wear khaki or white capris or slacks. If you purchased the new Supreme 14 polo shirt this is when we will be wearing them for the first time! IT IS NOT WORN BEFORE THE DINNER! If you do not have the new shirt, any rainbow shirt will be fine.
Thursday morning - If you are traveling home on the bus, you may wear anything which is "rainbow appropriate". Be comfortable....it will be a long trip!
Additional packing suggestions and tips:
There is no Wal Mart nearby, plan accordingly. Remember all your toiletries, pantyhose, etc.
The arena might be cool. You might want to pack a sweater or jacket.
Try to pack light. If traveling on the bus, please have no more than 1 suitcase, 1 gown bag and 1 "carry-on" per person. Make sure everything is clearly marked with your Name and Assembly name and number. Luggage and gown bags tend to look alike, especially at 1AM after a long day of traveling.
You may bring snacks/drinks on the bus BUT NO GLASS BOTTLES of any kind will be allowed on the bus. Remember if you bring it on the bus you take it off the bus. You will be responsible for cleaning up your area.

Whew! WHOOT! And GGRRREEAT JOB!!!

Saturday is in the rear view mirror - lunch was a serious hit - THANK  YOU EVERYONE who contributed, helped, cleaned up and enjoyed.   Every hand and dish was a welcome help!

LADIES!  I cannot tell you how so very very proud I am of all of you.   Everyone had a new station, every worked so very very hard to get it just right and boy did you!   I heard compliments after compliments and I hope you took each and every one to heart.   See?!  I told you all those practices would pay off.

June 14th - Thursday the lodge is honoring a brother with his 50 year pin.   He is a founding board member of Hope Assembly.   The Eastern Star is asking for 2-3 girls to come up at 5:30-6:00 pm to help serve dinner, and clean up.   I would highly recommend that you make plans to stay for the meeting - its open to everyone and sounds like it's going to be fun!!!

PLEASE email me if you're going so I can let the lady handling dinner know she's got helping hands.

We're going to take the rest of June off - RELAX.   I will be home and fine but not terribly mobile for a week or so.

July - is Supreme Assembly for those folks taking the bus - HAVE A GREAT TIME.  And to the Ritual team and all girls competing --- GO FOR IT----- YOU CAN DO IT.!!!!!   I'm cheering you on!  From Maryland.    Practice, practice practice - if you want the information for the new Grand Deputy - please contact Mom Sharon.

After everyone gets home and settled we'll sit down, write thank yous to the lodges and other groups that made that trip possible for you girls, do something fun, and plan our fund raisers!  We sure need them!

Parents you can mail me your Grand Assembly 2013 payments anytime - address in email.

Again, you girls worked hard, did well and made me so VERY proud to be your mother adviser.

In Rainbow Love and Service,

Mother Advisor.
